Cancer Bats - Hail Destroyer

I saw Cancer Bats for the third time this year on saturday. It was amazing as always, and I'm glad a decent Canadian Hardcore band shows up a lot in a smal country like The Netherlands. One of the highlights of their career is their second album 'Hail Destroyer', and it's even better with added bonus tracks.

This download includes the full album, with a new song and 3 covers from The Faint, Murder City Devils and Tegan & Sara.

Download HERE, and enjoy it!

A Dark Halo - Catalyst

So I don't know much about this band. It seems they have splitted up after their debut, and they make decent Industrial Metal. Don't think much people know this band or where to download, so here it is.

Japandroids Discography

Japandroids is one of the most fun bands around right now. Fresh, noisy and happy Vancouver Rock with hopeful lyrics. Their EP's were good, but the debut album is so much better. Pretty much sticks in your head forever. Also recommended to see them live, had much fun this summer.

This post contains everything! Their debut (Post-Nothing), the two EP's combined (No Singles) and their latest three singles. I will update this post every time a new single comes out (probably in 2 months).

Salem stuff

So yeah, it's been a while since I posted some stuff, mostly because I had a busy time with school, friends, gigs etc. But I'm alive and kicking again, with some works from Salem.

This American trio plays strange electronic music. Dirty Hip-Hop/Dubstep beats, mixed with haunting vocals and Darkwave-esque melodies, sounds good huh? They seem to call it Witch House, with a whole scene build around it.

Anyway, Salem has got a lot of material that is big in the tapetrading scene. As i'm not a part of that, I just post everything that can be found on the internet from Salem here. It includes their new album, some Ep's, singles and a CD-R.

Kvelertak - Kvelertak

I hate the fact Black Metal bands like Darkthrone try to incorporate Hardcore Punk in their Black Metal. The latest three records have a couple of good songs, but the majority sucks I guess. Pretty sure there are a lot more bands that try to do the same thing, but it seems there's only one that does it right.

Kvelertak is a Norwegian band, that plays a really dirty mix of Black Metal, Hardcore Punk and sleazy Rock 'n Roll. Unlike Darkthrone, this mix sounds really interesting. You can easily two-step while you have your mouth open and your claw in the air on this music.

Hands down for one of the most interesting acts of 2010. They aren't grim and frostbitten at all, which is a good point in my opinion, die-hard Black Metal fans will enjoy the Norwegian lyrics the most.

Akphaezya - Anthology II

This is a very strange album. It's French, heavy, exciting, jazzy, beautiful and fierce at the same time. With a women on vocals that sings like a Angel, but screams like one that's about to die too. Definitely recommended for Mike Patton, Opeth, Instrumental Jazz and French lyric fans. Their stuff is quite hard to find, but now you can download it here.

Sunn O))) & Boris - Altar

Sunn O))) plays Drone, Boris play everything that is not commercial bullshit. Together they're more on the Sunn side of things, very HEAVY Drone. I adore this album, first of all, the overall artwork is amazing. Second, you can't go wrong with guest appearances like Kim Thayil, Joe Preston and Dylan Carlson. And third, the music on this baby is stunning.

This upload includes the normal album, with all it's bonus tracks. Enjoy it, with or without a little bit of drugs.

Foals Discography

Foals is a nice band out of the UK. Catchy rhythm's, high guitar tones and emotional vocals are the main ingredients for their math pop/rock. I uploaded their whole discography here, it includes the debut 'Antidotes', with al the b-sides and bonus tracks of that album. Also included, their latest effort 'Total Life Forever', with pre-order bonus disc full of demo's. I also included their Sub Pop Bonus CD, which has got three more songs.

Applescal - A Mishmash Of Changing Moods

I'm not gonna do a big story about this guy. He's Dutch, young, very talented and produces pleasant IDM influenced Minimal Techno. Enjoy!

Dagoba - Poseidon

Industrial Metal machine from France. Blew me of the chair I'm sitting on right now with What Hell is About, a piece of heavy, fast, angry and bombastic metalart. Too bad the follow up record turned out to be crap, and the band disappeared out of my radar for a while (probably also because they didn't do much shows in The Netherlands). But they came back right in when I heard their new album, called Poseidon. It does exactly the same as What Hell is About, but with a more matured sound and better songwriting. This band is heavily recommended for fans of Fear Factory, Mnemic, Sybreed and the likes of that.
(The only thing that actually bothers me about this band is that their image still sucks...)

For a Minor Reflection - Höldum í átt að óreiðu

For A Minor Reflection is a young band from Iceland. They make the kind of Post-Rockish music only Icelanders can. Not so well known in Europe-mainland yet their music is still great. And although they've been on a big tour with Sigur Ros and did some headline shows last year (they will do that last thing over again this year), people still don't seem to like this music. I uploaded their beautiful second album here, and will probably do the same with their debut in some time.

Everything Everything - Man Alive

These guys are gonna be big, believe me. Smooth Indie pop, but with three great vocalists that combine their voices together perfectly, good instrumentation and catchy songs. You might know them already from their pre-album singles or festival appearances, this is their debut and I hope you enjoy it.

Magrudergrind - 62 Trax of Thrash

Magrudergrind is pissed, and they let you know that by making very fast, loud and angry Grindcore. Until now they released two albums and tons of splits, vinyl and ep's. 62 Trax of Trash contains all of that hard-to-find work (except the albums). 62 tracks, 58 minutes, sounds like a blast to me!

Borgore Mixes

The Israeli producer that ruined Dubstep, Borgore, released 2 mixes somewhere in 2009. They impressed me with heaviness I never heard before in Dubstep, and combined wobbly basslines with dirty lyrics. There obviously was a tracklist all over the internet, but not a mix with individual tracks. I decided to split them myself and upload them here. Enjoy!

Scott Kelly - Winter Tour cd

The guy amazed me over the years with his beast called Neurosis, but did you know he also does it solo? Folky singer-songwriter music with nothing more than a acoustic guitar and a voice that consumed a lot of whiskey and cigarettes.
When I saw him live last year, mister Kelly sold a special winter tour cd, with some exclusive stuff and live songs for about 5 euros. The cd was a one track thing, so i decided to split them for much easier listening. Now I uploaded it on my blog for you guys!

Orbs - Asleep Next to Science

Quite a new band, formed in 2008 and playing interesting Progressive Rock. According to their Myspace, ''the nine song, 66-minute album is the product of long-distance friendships linked through an appreciation for music, nature, and a mutual desire to defy common song structure.'' Guess there also was a Mars Volta record lying around when recording the album, I even sense some Bear In Heaven vocally sometimes.

Members aren't new to the music scene at all. Interesting combination, with (ex) members of bands like Between The Buried and Me, Abigail Williams/Cradle Of Filth and Fear Before (The March of Flames).

If you like heavy progressive rock/metal, with high pitched vocals I suggest you download the album HERE.

Shikari Discography

Probably one of the most interesting bands coming out of The Netherlands, combining their raging screamo sound with amazing and intense live performances. Even playing with the likes of Orchid and At The Drive-In back in the day, it's quite a shame most people have never heard about them. This is also why I decided to upload their whole discography here.
This blogpost contains their 1999-2003 compilation with 4 extra songs, 3 unreleased tracks and their split with Louise Cyphre. I hope you guys enjoy it!
